Join me on this 5 night safari to the action packed Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana. Our main goal is to photograph the intense predator activity in the area and we will be aided with two photo sessions in the sunken wildlife hide. The area also has abundant elephant activity, hence it’s nickname, “The Land of Giants”.
Mashatu is also abundant with an array of other species like Eland, Wildebeest, Zebra, Impala and Bushbuck.
Birders and bird photographers will also not be disappointed, with over 360 species recorded. The overall photographic hit rate is one of the highest I know of, with birdlife, predators and large mammals all combining to keep your cameras very busy.
This trip is aimed at photographers of all abilities but even non photographers will have a life changing experience.
There is rarely a dull moment in Mashatu!
The Photography Hide
The sunken photographic hide is a highlight of the trip.
This hide has produced several award winning images. It is perfectly positioned to utilise the light and allows everyone the possibility to get beautiful low angle photos with clean backgrounds.
During my visit there I made a video to show you just how amazing it is. You can watch the video below.
